Ý bác Carl Thayer có lẽ là TQ thực ra đang "nắn gân" Mỹ chứ không phải Philippines. Nếu Philippines lùi bước trong vụ này, là bằng chứng cho thấy Mỹ không muốn can thiệp, chắc chắn TQ sẽ leo thang trong cuộc chiến tranh giành biển Đông.
