Gần đây truyền hình TQ cho chiếu một số vụ "thú tội" của các dissidents/activists, chậm vài năm so với VN. Tờ The Economist cho rằng chính sách này là để chứng minh sự "dominance" của Tập Cẩm Bình và "submission" của những dissidents đó (tương tự như Big Brother với những players trong gameshow).
